2012 Bill Stanley Award Scholarships

William B Stanley (1929-2010) was passionate about his family, public service, his profession (stock market investment) and education. Bill said that NFA was his collage, and while formal study ended there upon his graduation, he encouraged learning opportunities with vigor up to his passing at 80 years of distinguished age.

Affected with the life time disorder known as DYSLEXIA he none the less was author and publisher of 9 books; one of which won the “Association for Study of Connecticut History” Linsley Award for The most important book published in 2005 on Connecticut history…The 9 Mile Square.

Therefore it is with reverence and deep commitment to his example that the officers of Bill Stanley’s The Forgotten Founders have established two $1,500 scholarships in his name.

On May 17, 2012 at Three Rivers Community College before President Grace Jones and several hundred guests Patricia Williams presented Jennifer Raymond and Denison Gibbs presented Rita Whitehead each a Bill Stanley Award Scholarship.

Congratulations Jennifer and Rita!
